Social Media Marketing

Social media - Anyone can create accounts, and promote their business. But can they continue with consistency? Businesses with some tech ability can create a Facebook page, and start a Twitter account. They can add a few followers and post some cool "tweets". But after a few weeks, when the novelty wears off, and time for tweeting has disappeared what happens to the followers or the community interaction?

Already Tweeting?
If you are reading this blog, chances are pretty good that you are already “tweeting” about your business and you likely can be found on Facebook. Good for you! Social media marketing for small business is such a growing and important aspect of marketing and PR.  But with everything else small business managers and owners have on their plate, social media can become overwhelming to keep on top of.  Finding time to tweet (other than at 2 a.m. when you finally have time to focus on it) or on the other end of the spectrum spending too much time tweeting and updating because it's a great escape from the other boring but important tasks that await is a reality for some busy businesses.

Need to Get Started?
Many small businesses want to use social media but just don't know where or how to start! Some have started but the task has fallen of the radar.  Marketing through social media provides numerous advantages. One of the greatest advantages is that it targets and engages consumers that are interested in your business, and allows you to engage potential new customers by giving them some insight to what you are all about. It's the online version of word of mouth advertising!
While social media has its advantages, one of the most difficult issues is upkeep. Tweets, likes, posts, pictures, finding friends, following, followers….. It can become overwhelming, especially when you combine it with all of the regular day to day duties of running a business. Social media can fall apart.

Outsourcing your Social Media Management
A new trend in small business PR is outsourcing your social media to a social media manager. Small business owners immediately think "expense" but this may be a great solution. At a low cost compared to traditional advertising, small businesses gain the benefit of daily updates on social media sites, stay fresh and current online, grow their followers, and engage their community while promoting all of the key aspects of their business and website. Plus it's one less hat for the owner/manager to wear, while still having the control of content.

The idea of social media management is catching on. When it comes to promoting your business this outsourced option might be right for you.
